2024 Certificates

During our 2024 Conference we will be offering our Preparing Future Faculty AND Professional Development certificates.

The NCSA certificate program provides a structure for focusing your conference participation on professional development for graduate students about to enter their professional lives or early career faculty looking to gain a broader perspective of their academic activities. The requirements of either certificate documents and recognizes participation in sessions directly focused on your professional development in sociology.

To receive a certificate you must attend 5 sessions from those listed for the program you are interested in completing. You will need to verify your attendance with a signature from either the presider or one of the presenters at the end of each session you attend (only one signature per session is required). In addition to the collected signatures, you will submit an essay that addresses a specific question.

Information on the eligible sessions, essay instructions, and full details can be downloaded below:

• PrepFutureFac-Certf_NCSA2024 — designed for graduate students in the year prior to entering the job market
• ProfDev-Certf_NCSA2024— designed for early career faculty who wish to gain tools for their teaching, mentoring and service skill set

A third certificate program may be developed each year based on the conference theme. No additional certificate was available for 2024.
